Training Assessments
Obedience Training Assessment
During your initial obedience assessment you and the dog trainer will look into all aspects of your dog’s daily routine and care at home. This will be done through a short questionnaire, which will also look at the level of exercise and mental stimulation your dog currently receives. Your dog's diet will also be discussed, as the diet can have a profound effect on behaviour. We will ask you what obedience commands your dog already understands, if any, and identify what areas need to be improved upon.
We will discuss issues you may have with your dog’s obedience and behaviour, and what you hope to achieve from training, while also showing you a range of techniques to get you and your dog started on the right track! Common behaviour problems such as mouthing and jumping up will be discussed, with an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have on your dog's behaviour. The assessment will include a starter lesson to give you an idea of the training techniques before your first class or one to one session. This will be tailored to your individual needs, covering any particular commands you wish, and will give you the opportunity to start practicing!
Behavioural Training Assessment
Living with a dog with behavioural problems can often be difficult, causing much anxiety and concern for you and your family. At Home from Home Dog Training Centre we can recommend ways in which behaviour problems such as aggression or anxiety can be resolved or improved upon. During the behavioural assessment, an in-depth analysis will be carried out on the problems you are experiencing with your dog, and you will be advised on ways in which you can deal with situations as they arise. We will look into all situations that cause your dog's behaviour, and if the problem revolves around other dogs, another dog may be brought into the assessment in order for the trainer to evaluate your dog's reaction.
We will identify the causes and reasons behind your dog's behaviour, enabling you to understand why your dog acts the way they do, and formulate a tailored training plan to suit you are your dog's needs. This will usually consist of one to one training sessions or residential training, however day care may be advised if it is just socialization your dog requires.
