Rachael Longstaff
Pet Care Manager - Dog Trainer
Rachael gained employment with Home From Home Pet Care in 2002 as a part time pet care assistant whilst taking her first diploma in animal management (FDAM) at Bishop Burton College.
Prior to this Rachael had the opportunity of working with T.W Dixon for a year at his veterinary practice in Brough which gave her a good insight in to the care required for sick and injured pets.
In 2003 Rachael gained her first diploma in animal management (FDAM) and for the following two years studied for her National Diploma in Animal Management (NDAM). In 2005, after completing her studies at Bishop Burton College, Rachael was given a full time position with the company.
In October 2007 Rachael was promoted to Pet Care Manager after proving she had the ability to provide, and actively ensure best practices in pet care were being provided.
Continuing her dedication to all things four-legged, in 2008 Rachael, along with fellow employee Leighanna, sought out further study in canine behaviour finding Angela White, internationally renowned in her knowledge of dogs. After gaining a certificate from the International Animal Behaviour Training Centre (IABTC) in Dog Instructing, Animal First Aid and Dog Behaviour & Counselling, Rachael, along with Leighanna, felt they now had the knowledge needed to offer a quality dog training service at Home From Home. In November 2009 Rachael also gained her certificate from the IABTC in Behaviour Problems & Rehabilitation.
Over the years Rachael has provided a high level of care to the pets at Home From Home, implementing her knowledge gained from her qualifications to best assist the pets in having an enjoyable, healthy and stress free stay.
